~I will rinse the placenta of blood, removing the membrane and cord, and draining excess blood from the vessels.

~The placenta is cut into thin strips and placed in the dehydrator (not the oven!).

~The placenta dehydrates at 130 degrees for approximately 20 hours.

~After the placenta is dried, it is finely using a high powered grinder, and any of the supplements you have selected are added.

~Once the placenta is finely ground, it is put into vegetarian capsules, and delivered to you.

The whole process, including pickup and delivery, is usually done by the end of the third day postpartum, often sooner.

Most hospitals are very easy going about releasing the placenta, and they make the process very simple.

**SAMC and Christus WestOver Hills have been very difficult about releasing the placenta, so please contact me for specifics so we can work something out!**
